Parents, Our virtual school platform through Edgenuity is not available at this time. They are extremely busy due to the influx of new accounts throughout the state. Our data files have been prepared, but we cannot provide parents and students with coursework until their implementation process takes place. Our plans were to provide roll out and login information this afternoon. We are still in communication with our implementation team in hopes this can be resolved before Friday. Virtual k-8 students will receive information via email (student and parent account) for beginning their STAR assessment. This will coincide with Edgenuity placement and help to identify areas that may need strengthening in math and ELA standards. STAR will be available for this purpose from 9:00 -3:00 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please encourage your student to work independently on this assignment. We will post an alert for the Edgenuity access and corresponding email as soon as they have us loaded and our schools have access to the courseware. The guidance for Infinite Campus daily check-in will be posted on our website. High school guidance and other details will be sent as well as soon as we have an update for you. Scheduling matching for block courses cannot occur without access to Edgenuity. We apologize for the inconvenience, as there are a lot of moving pieces to try and get all details in place.

Dear parents, As we are set to begin this year, I want to thank you for your support and patience. There are many new procedures and steps that we are implementing in order to provide as much safety as possible. I am very sure that many of these precautions will be inconvenient at times. As you might expect, arrival and dismissal will be slow. The first days every year always take longer until the routine is established and each family falls into a pattern. This year poses the added challenge of not doing a “mass dismissal”. Our plans are to keep cohort groups together and avoid mixing students throughout the day. Our lunch schedule, class changes, and bus assignments will also seek to maintain the same groups as much as possible. Individual car riders will be called for pickup, and buses will load individually at dismissal, as well. This will take longer. Arrival times have been extended to accommodate the long lines in the morning. Pre-K will have an alternate pick up at an earlier time each afternoon. The middle/high school will be operating a second car rider line. Our first attempts at all of these changes will be this Wednesday. I would ask that you review the drop-off and pick-up plans and check with each school if you have a question. I also ask for your patience. Dispersing 1250 students while trying to socially distance will not happen swiftly, but the process will speed up in time. We will become more efficient as we see ways to improve the process. Thank you for your continued support.

Parents of Virtual Students, You will be able to pick up requested student devices at the board office beginning Monday August 3rd from 9:00-11:00 and 3:00-5:00 There is a $10 insurance fee that covers damage in the event of an accident, not abuse or neglect. Insurance is not mandatory but without it you must sign a liability form stating that you are responsible for damages. Your Infinite Campus daily attendance check-in will be provided, as well as your child’s email and login information. We will need a valid, current parent email so that we can send parents other information directly needed for Edgenuity. Optional school meal delivery for students is being coordinated. Virtual students will be able to pick up meals from four locations at assigned times. You will receive this information from the board office at the device pickup.

Parents, You will need your child's Georgia Testing ID (GTID) number to complete the application for the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services to provide food benefits of families with children who receive free and reduced lunch. This GTID number is available in Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Once you login select More and then GTID. In the top right you are able to select each child.

GTID in Parent Portal
Parents, At the beginning of each school year, all returning parents should verify their address information, demographics, and family information online in Infinite Campus. This will be much easier than completing the forms that we have used in previous years. It is extremely important that we have your current information, especially in the case of an emergency. Please go to Infinite Campus Parent Portal, log in, then click "More" in the left column. The three areas that we need you to verify are: 1) Address Information 2) Demographics 3) Family Information If you do not have a parent portal account then you will need the last 4 digits of any of your school-age children's SSN and also his/her birthdate to lookup the unique activation key. Please follow the link https://5il.co/9xen to find directions for creating your Infinite Campus parent account.

Dear Parents, Thank you for your support and patience throughout this period of uncertainty. We are continuing to work toward a successful 2020-2021 school year. Planning has been especially difficult and prone to changes as new developments present themselves. Your survey results and candid comments were very much appreciated. Decisions and choices will continue to evolve over the next couple of weeks. We do not have all the answers, but parents will be involved in the choices for their child’s instructional plans. We will begin releasing key elements of our back-to-school plans next week. Please continue to keep our community and our young ones in your thoughts and prayers as we put together the procedures to begin this school year. Sincerely, Brian Hall Superintendent

We will be discontinuing our Tuesday and Thursday meal pick ups this week. Participation has dropped considerably since the first weeks we began serving. We do thank our lunchroom staff as well as the faculty and bus driver volunteers that helped serve.

Meals program for this week: Our lunch program will be serving meals and snacks on Tuesday and Thursday (May 5th and 7th). Food will be ready for pick up at the bus loading zone near the high school lunchroom and is available for children ages 2 – 18. Meals are provided to those present at pick up. We would ask that anyone picking up food to remain in their vehicle at all times. Our staff will bring the items to you as you pull through. We would recommend those picking up to have some type of face covering in order to take as many precautions as possible. Serving time will be 11:00-12:30.
